Roderick's parents lived at Badgerys Creek. His occupation was Station Hand when he enlisted at Liverpool NSW on 12 January 1916 and served in the 45th Battalion A.I.F.

He left Sydney on the 'Nesrop' 9 April 1916 and arrived in France via Egypt 14 June 1916.

Private Roderick Kenneth KERR died in the field from shrapnel wounds to left foot and compound fracture of thigh at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station France on 1 September 1916 age 33.
